The decoration of the SANTA FE ROOM is themed after the artistic mountain town of Santa Fe, New Mexico. This enclave, as well as the Southwest of the United States in general, is characterized by offering a landscape with a very special energy that seems to us to be one of the most beautiful on earth: the desert. It is apparently a desolate, inhospitable place but dozens of animal and flower and insect species have a home there because life always rises to the occasion in the face of overwhelming adversity. The SANTA FE ROOM represents the disclosure of the purity and strength of life that always finds a way to survive and thrive.

In desert landscapes, at first, we see nothing. But suddenly our mind changes, it returns to its original simplicity and begins to see and perceive the essential, what is always there but which we never realize. The sun and its light and its heat, the sky, the air, the space. And ourselves. Purity or sattva is a path of self-discovery because in the absence of distractions we become aware of our own presence. The desert has long played an important role in many spiritual traditions and individual awakenings. It is a propitious enclave to practice a state of inner serenity called upekha.
